Eligible customers can now import PowerPoint files as client-side encrypted (CSE) Slides, allowing users to access and edit content. This enables interoperability with Microsoft Office, with this launch PowerPoint files are encrypted on the client before the content is imported to Workspace, and then converted to high-fidelity encrypted Slides. The feature is available via the CSE Office Interop beta program, which offers immediate access to features for Microsoft Office Editing, export, import, and takeout. Eligible Google Workspace admins can apply for the beta program today. For organizations that are already registered, this feature is now available across their domains. Encrypted .pptx file imported to CSE Slides Getting started Admins: Admins with eligible Workspace licenses can sign up for the CSE Office Interop beta . Eunsoo Kim discovered that curl incorrectly handled SASL negotiation for LDAP authentication in certain circumstances. A machine-in-the-middle attacker could possibly use this issue to bypass peer validation. This issue only affected Ubuntu 24.04 LTS and Ubuntu 26.04 LTS. (CVE-2026-13608) Stephan Zeisberg discovered that curl incorrectly handled HTTP/2 Server Push streams when sharing connections between handles. A remote attacker could possibly use this issue to cause curl to crash, resulting in a denial of service, or execute arbitrary code. (CVE-2026-18924) Stanislav Fort discovered that curl incorrectly managed the lifetime of pooled TLS connections when using the multi interface. An attacker could possibly use this issue to cause curl to crash, resulting in a denial of service, or execute arbitrary code. This issue only affected Ubuntu 26.04 LTS. (CVE-2026-80229) Stanislav Fort discovered that curl did not properly enforce public key pinning when certificate verification was disabled in certain circumstances. A remote attacker could possibly use this issue to bypass pinning checks and cause curl to accept connections that should have been rejected. (CVE-2026-80230) Stanislav Fort discovered that curl incorrectly handled the Secure attribute of cookies in certain circumstances. A remote attacker could possibly use this issue to obtain sensitive information. This issue only affected Ubuntu 26.04 LTS. (CVE-2026-80255) Stanislav Fort discovered that curl did not properly enforce Public Suffix List boundaries when handling cookies in certain circumstances. A remote attacker could possibly use this issue to cause cookies to be sent to unrelated domains, resulting in sensitive information being exposed. This issue only affected Ubuntu 18.04 LTS, Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, and Ubuntu 26.04 LTS. (CVE-2026-82209) Ady Elouej discovered that curl did not clear proxy authentication state between requests when reusing a handle with environment-variable proxy configuration. A remote attacker could possibly use this issue to obtain sensitive credentials. This issue was previously fixed in USN-8487-1, but that fix was incomplete for Ubuntu 16.04 LTS. (CVE-2026-8927)

Amazon Connect Customer now provides routing step data in the analytics data lake, making it easier for customers to generate insights from routing decisions. Using the data lake, customers can leverage Amazon Athena and Amazon Quick to analyze trends, such as contacts queued and contacts joined at each routing step, without complex data pipelines. For example, an analyst can now report on how contacts progressed through each routing step, identify where agent matching criteria were relaxed, and measure the impact of routing step configurations on wait times and agent utilization. Routing step data is available in all AWS regions where Amazon Connect Customer data lake is offered. AWS announces Salesforce and Zendesk data source connectors for Amazon Bedrock Managed Knowledge Base, a fully managed retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) service. Customers can now sync Salesforce knowledge articles and Zendesk articles and community posts directly into their managed knowledge base. Previously, bringing content from these platforms into Bedrock Knowledge Bases required building custom ingestion pipelines—now, you provide your instance credentials, and the connectors handle data crawling, metadata extraction, and incremental sync automatically. These connectors make it easy to build AI agents and assistants grounded in the support and product knowledge your teams already maintain in Salesforce and Zendesk. For example, power a customer-facing support bot with up-to-date Zendesk help center articles and community answers, or build an internal sales enablement assistant that retrieves relevant Salesforce knowledge articles during deal preparation. By keeping your knowledge base in sync with these platforms, your retrieval-augmented generation applications always reflect the latest content without manual intervention. Today, AWS announces that Amazon EMR on EKS now supports running workloads on IPv6 Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS) clusters. Amazon EMR on EKS enables data platform and analytics teams to run open-source big data frameworks such as Apache Spark and Apache Flink on Amazon EKS. With IPv6 support, teams operating at scale can now run these workloads on IPv6 Amazon EKS clusters, giving them access to the vastly larger address space of IPv6 as their analytics workloads grow. You can now scale large Spark and Flink workloads using the expanded IPv6 address space, which removes the need for IPv4 conservation workarounds such as secondary CIDR ranges or prefix delegation. High-executor jobs, such as 500-executor Spark jobs, can run concurrently without planning around address limits. To submit workloads, use StartJobRun, Spark Connect Interactive Endpoints, and Amazon SageMaker Unified Studio with no additional configuration, while the Flink, Livy, and Spark Operators are also supported. This capability is available at no additional cost, starting with Amazon EMR releases emr-7.14.0 and emr-spark-8.0.0. IPv6 cluster support is available in all AWS Regions where Amazon EMR on EKS and IPv6 Amazon EKS clusters are available. Starting today, Amazon DynamoDB global tables with multi-Region strong consistency (MRSC) is available in five additional AWS Regions: Canada (Central), Europe (Stockholm), Europe (Spain), Asia Pacific (Mumbai), and Asia Pacific (Singapore), bringing the total number of supported Regions to 15. You can now create an MRSC global table in any three-Region configuration across the 15 supported AWS Regions, configured with either three replicas or two replicas and one witness Region. This includes configurations that span North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific. MRSC lets you build highly available multi-Region applications with a recovery point objective (RPO) of zero. By choosing replica Regions closer to your users in more geographies, you can route applications to nearby DynamoDB endpoints for strongly consistent reads while keeping your application available during Regional impairments. MRSC is ideal for global applications with strict consistency requirements, such as user profile management, inventory tracking, order state, and entitlement management. Amazon Kinesis Data Streams now supports service-managed partition keys for On-Demand Standard and On-Demand Advantage streams, automatically distributing records across shards without requiring customers to specify partition keys to publish data. This capability simplifies data ingestion for workloads where record ordering is not required, eliminating hot partition keys and reducing time to production for streaming workloads. Amazon Kinesis Data Streams is a serverless streaming data service that makes it easy to capture, process, and store data streams at any scale. Many streaming use cases such as log aggregation, metrics collection, and IoT telemetry do not require ordering guarantees and benefit from prewarmed capacity for instant scaling. Previously, customers generated random partition keys (such as UUIDs) to distribute data, but random partitioning can still produce uneven throughput across shards, causing throttling for some partition keys even when the stream has sufficient aggregate capacity. By opting into service-managed partition keys, customers no longer need to specify partition keys when publishing data to streams in on-demand mode. The service automatically distributes records based on available warm capacity, allowing customers to scale to gigabytes per second without maintaining any distribution logic. Customers who want to send records without specifying a partition key can simply upgrade to the latest AWS SDK or Kinesis Producer Library (KPL) version to benefit from this capability. Service-managed partition keys for Amazon Kinesis Data Streams is available today in all AWS commercial regions at no additional cost. Occupancy counting is now available for Android-based Logitech Gen 2 room hardware (starting with Logitech Rally Board 65) to help measure how meeting rooms are used. This feature brings the same occupancy counting capabilities found on ChromeOS devices to Android-based hardware. Support for occupancy counting will be added next year for earlier Gen 1 devices later as part of an upcoming CollabOS update. Understanding room occupancy helps organizations optimize real estate and room design based on user needs. For instance, organizations can track if rooms with older video hardware are being avoided in favor of rooms equipped with better tracking cameras and audio bars. Admins can review occupancy data in the Google Admin console and optionally download it as a spreadsheet. This feature does not collect or store any personally identifiable information (PII). Because occupancy detection processes data locally on the device, the camera LED indicator may remain off during counting depending on the hardware vendor. Amazon Route 53 Resolver is now generally available on second-generation AWS Outposts, providing local, managed recursive DNS resolution directly on your Outpost. DNS queries from workloads running on your Outpost are resolved locally, reducing latency and eliminating the need to traverse the Service Link to reach the parent AWS Region. Route 53 Resolver maintains cached DNS records during Service Link disconnections, ensuring continuous DNS resolution even during connectivity interruptions. Route 53 Resolver runs entirely on AWS-managed infrastructure built into every second-generation Outpost, eliminating the need for customer compute capacity. Route 53 Resolver is enabled by default on multi-rack second-generation Outposts. Customers who prefer to manage their own DNS resolution can opt out at any time by contacting AWS Support. Route 53 Resolver on second-generation Outposts is available in all AWS Regions where second-generation Outposts are supported. All customers, including current preview customers, receive a 91-day free trial through December 21, 2026. Starting December 22, 2026, the service is priced at $0.65 per Outpost rack per hour. AWS Billing Transfer users can now enable the Auto-Billing Transfer Billing Group Creation, a new AWS Billing Conductor preference that eliminates the manual billing group configuration in two-level billing transfer arrangements. Designed for AWS Distributors managing billing for downstream seller Partners and their end customers, this feature automatically creates billing groups when an end customer accepts a billing transfer from a downstream seller Partner, ensuring pro forma cost data is immediately available to the Partner, with no extra manual configuration. Auto-Billing Transfer Billing Group Creation is a one-time preference configuration per inbound transfer relationship, enabling you to request the creation of a billing group for any new indirect transfer coming through your Partners' account, as well as being able to specify an AWS Billing Conductor pricing plan for the billing groups created automatically. The preference is accessible through two new API operations and through the AWS Management Console in the Billing Transfer details page. Amazon EMR introduces Long Term Support (LTS) releases, starting with emr-spark-8.1.0 and Apache Spark 4.1. With LTS, designated versions of the AWS runtime for Apache Spark receive 36 months of support. Amazon EMR provides LTS releases with fixes for critical and high severity security, bug, and data-corruption issues, subject to availability. LTS helps you run production Spark workloads on one release longer and upgrade on your own schedule, at no additional cost. This release adds full support for Apache Iceberg v3, bringing new geospatial, high-precision timestamp, and schema-evolution capabilities to your tables. Spark SQL queries can reference catalogs by name, including cross-account and Amazon S3 Tables catalogs, and automatically detect Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake, and Apache Hudi table formats, without registering each catalog in your Spark configuration. Fine-grained access control now covers more Apache Iceberg operations and the Delta Lake VACUUM operation, so you can apply column-level and row-level permissions to a wider set of jobs. Amazon EMR on EKS clusters now support Spark Connect endpoints with token-based authentication. emr-spark-8.1.0 is available in all AWS Regions where Amazon EMR is available, across Amazon EMR on EC2, Amazon EMR on EKS, and Amazon EMR Serverless. AWS Glue Data Quality now generates data quality rules in seconds, reducing the time to establish data quality checks for your tables in the AWS Glue Data Catalog. You get a ready-to-use set of rules with full coverage across every column, with no manual setup—so you can move from raw data to trusted data faster while authoring pipelines. This is delivered through a new Advanced mode for rule recommendations, in which AWS Glue Data Quality uses generative AI to detect the intent behind your data and proposes business-relevant rules that reflect how your data is used. You can use this Advanced mode to bootstrap rules for a newly onboarded dataset or establish baseline checks across a large data lake without hand-writing each rule. You review the recommended rules, adjust as needed, and save them as a ruleset to begin monitoring immediately. Advanced mode is available in the following AWS Regions: Asia Pacific (Melbourne, Osaka, Sydney, Tokyo), Canada (Central), Europe (Frankfurt, Ireland, London, Milan, Paris, Spain, Stockholm, Zurich), US East (N. AWS now offers Claude Opus 5.5, Anthropic’s most capable Opus model yet and, the first of the Claude 5.5 model family, a better collaborator that handles long-running coding and knowledge work, reporting back clearly on what it did, what it found, and what it needs next. According to Anthropic, Claude Opus 5.5 completes tasks using fewer tokens than Claude Opus 5, at a lower price per token, with cheaper cache reads stacking on top of the efficiency gain. Claude Opus 5.5 is the enterprise workhorse, a clear step up from Opus 5 on the work teams count on Opus to do. It handles long-running coding and knowledge work, and reports back like a good teammate, surfacing what it did, what it found, and what it needs from you. It thinks adaptively on every request, deciding how much effort each task needs. Customers have two ways to access Claude Opus 5.5: Amazon Bedrock and Claude Platform on AWS: Amazon Bedrock gives you Opus 5.5’s advanced capabilities with zero data retention (ZDR) support by default. It keeps your data within AWS infrastructure with regional data residency and provides access through a unified service with AWS-managed features like Guardrails and Knowledge Bases. Today, AWS announces the general availability of GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna from OpenAI on Amazon Bedrock. Expanding the GPT-6 family alongside Astra, these two models give teams more ways to balance intelligence, speed, and cost across every workload. Sol is the daily model for recurring complex tasks and software development. On an internal OpenAI factuality evaluation, it makes roughly half as many mistakes as GPT-5.6 Sol. Luna is the family's most efficient model for focused, high-volume tasks such as summarization, extraction, classification, and routing. Both models support up to 1M tokens of context. The Amazon Bedrock inference engine delivers the performance, security, and scale required for production workloads. GPT-6 Sol can implement features, debug issues, review and refactor code, analyze data, and complete multistep workflows across tools. Improvements in coding and computer use help it carry tasks from investigation through validation. GPT-6 Luna handles high-volume workloads like extraction, summarization, classification, and routing, with adjustable reasoning effort to balance quality, speed, and cost per request. Established AWS controls help you secure workloads, govern access, and audit model invocation activity. Apache Iceberg materialized views now refresh faster on tables with updates and deletes, using change data capture to read only the data files affected by a change. On Amazon EMR on EKS, clusters now support Spark Connect endpoints for interactive Spark sessions with token-based authentication, and can run workloads on IPv6 Amazon EKS clusters. On Amazon EMR Serverless, the storage limit for Spark jobs increases from 200 GiB to 1 TiB, giving more room for shuffle data. AWS Security Hub AI Inventory now supports discovering and cataloging AI assets running on self-hosted instances in Microsoft Azure. This expansion extends Security Hub's existing self-hosted discovery capabilities beyond AWS, enabling central security teams to gain a continuously updated, organization-wide view of AI assets and their security posture across multi-cloud environments. Security Hub leverages the software bill of materials (SBOM) analysis from Amazon Inspector, which has been enhanced to identify inference endpoints, models, and AI agents installed on Azure virtual machines, including frameworks such as Ollama, vLLM, Hugging Face TGI, and others. Each discovered AI asset is mapped to its underlying infrastructure and correlated with security findings, enabling teams to filter, group, and query their AI inventory across both AWS and Azure environments. This capability is included with Security Hub Essentials at no additional cost. It is available in all AWS commercial Regions where Security Hub is offered. Amazon Connect Customer now supports agent-to-agent collaboration, giving customers the choice to bring in specialized AI agents during a live interaction to resolve a customer request. With this launch, Connect Customer AI agents can collaborate with each other, and with AI agents outside Connect Customer, over the open agent-to-agent (A2A) protocol through text or bidirectional voice. For example, a bank's frontline AI agent handling a customer call can delegate a fraud risk assessment to a specialist scoring AI agent, use the result to approve the transaction on the spot, and then transfer a complex dispute to another AI agent that resolves it directly with the customer. Working with the A2A Technical Steering Committee at the Linux Foundation, AWS expanded the protocol to support voice streaming and interaction-level session continuity required for customer engagement. When using A2A, Connect Customer coordinates context passing between the AI agents so customers get a consistent experience, with unified observability, guardrails, and escalation controls across all the AI agents in an interaction. Administrators see one contact record showing what each agent said, which tools it called, and how long each step took, all captured as a single interaction for analytics, AI quality management, and to drive continual improvement. Google Sheets now supports custom sorting and manual reordering in pivot tables. Users can now drag and drop rows and columns on a pivot table to match specific presentation needs and custom business hierarchies, rather than being restricted to standard ascending or descending alphanumeric order. This launch includes the following capabilities: On-grid drag-and-drop: Directly grab and move individual row or column headers with clear drop-zone indicators Multi-item reordering: Select and reposition multiple rows or columns simultaneously Hierarchical preservation: Automatically move nested child items alongside parent fields, maintaining structure across expand and collapse actions Persistent sort states: Preserve custom arrangements across browser sessions, data refreshes, filtering, and layout adjustments This update also delivers significant improvements for Microsoft Excel file interoperability. Previously, when importing Microsoft Excel workbooks containing pivot tables with manual or custom sort orders, Google Sheets defaulted back to ascending or descending order. Now, imported spreadsheets retain their pivot tables with the exact custom sort order preserved. Previously, we announced new admin and end user settings for Google Meet ‘Take notes for me’ pre-configuration. These settings will begin to take effect September 29th. Below is the previously communicated information about these new settings. Admin settings Previously, admins could only enable or disable automatic note-taking for all meetings. We’re now rolling out a third option, which will allow admins to enable automatic note-taking only for meetings with three or more people. Customers on Business Standard and Business Plus plans will see this setting turned ON by default on ; the setting will be OFF by default for customers on Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, and Frontline Plus plans, as well as those with the Google AI Pro for Education add-on. If you want to change your settings, you can do so in the Admin console. These settings will begin impacting end users on September 29th 2026. If you currently participate in the Gemini Alpha program , and previously tested this setting, it may already be ON. Please review the current state of the settings for your organization in the Admin console. End user settings We’re also introducing a way for end users to enable note-taking only for meetings with three or more participants. Once the “For all meetings I host with 3+ guests” option rolls out, users should revisit their settings to confirm they’re configured as desired. This option will begin rolling out on September 29th. Earlier this year we introduced study notebooks, a dedicated space that turns Gemini into an interactive, adaptive learning platform. They offer personalized lessons based on your learning goal, whether that’s tackling a school course or learning a new skill. Now, we’re excited to share that users of all ages who are signed into a school or work-issued Google account will also have access to study notebooks if the Gemini app and Gemini Notebook are enabled by their admin. Here’s how study notebooks work: Create your study notebook: From the left sidebar in the Gemini app, select “New notebook”, and then the “Study and learn” tile. Tell Gemini what you are studying, and upload your class materials or other sources. Assess your knowledge gaps: You can request progress check quizzes, helping pinpoint your strengths and weaknesses to create a tailored learning baseline. Study with personalized bite-sized lessons: Follow short, custom lessons with built-in practice quizzes. You can ask in-line questions at any point as you learn. Track your progress: Monitor real-time mastery via a dynamic dashboard that breaks your goals into objectives, categorizing topics into "Strengths" and "Focus areas," to recommend top-priority lessons. Amazon Elastic Container Service (Amazon ECS) now provides real-time service deployment observability in the Amazon ECS Console for native Linear, Canary, and Blue/Green deployment strategies. With this launch, deployment monitoring and troubleshooting come together in one place in the console, so you can track deployment progress, monitor health, and diagnose failures without switching between tools. Real-time service deployment observability includes a live deployment timeline that narrates each service deployment as it happens, showing every deployment phase, service events, and task launch and termination progress, always reflecting the current state. As a deployment moves forward, you can follow the traffic shift distribution across your source and target revisions and see the current lifecycle stage at a glance, whether it is scaling up green tasks, waiting on a lifecycle hook, or sitting through bake time. Deployment health signals that you would otherwise gather from separate tools now sit alongside the timeline: circuit breaker status with live task failure and threshold tracking, deployment alarm state, container and load-balancer health checks, and lifecycle hook status. When something goes wrong, failed tasks surface right in the timeline with diagnostic context and deep links to services such as AWS CloudTrail, so you can pinpoint the root cause and act on it quickly. These capabilities are available at no additional charge in all AWS commercial Regions, and AWS GovCloud (US) Regions for all Amazon ECS services using the Amazon ECS native Linear, Canary, and Blue/Green deployment types. We’re introducing a new manual calculation setting in Google Sheets to give you precise control over when formulas and other references update. The new manual calculation setting allows editors of complex or data-dense spreadsheets to pause automatic recalculation, batch their edits, and trigger a sheet-wide update at the exact moment they are ready to review the results. Manual calculation offers users of especially complex Sheets a more streamlined, uninterrupted workspace for advanced analytical workflows. This feature is particularly useful for things like: Uninterrupted high-volume updates: When pasting or modifying large blocks of data in spreadsheets containing extensive formula networks (such as multi-sheet lookups and aggregations), you can enter all updates smoothly without intermediate recalculations running after every action. Structured scenario modeling: When adjusting multiple assumption drivers in financial or forecasting models, you can input your variables sequentially and recalculate once. This ensures you only view the complete, final state of the scenario rather than partial, intermediate calculations. Stabilizing volatile simulations: For spreadsheets utilizing volatile functions (such as random generators or live timestamps), manual calculation lets you freeze the data state so your numbers remain stable while you analyze results or present insights to key stakeholders.
