Solution Consider the following when planning for an upgrade: All backup jobs are stopped during the upgrade process. After the upgrade, backup jobs settings and global configuration options (e.g., notifications and file exclusions) will be preserved. After the upgrade, Repositories , Proxy Servers , and Proxy Pools may require manual interaction to upgrade. Veeam Explorers must be upgraded along with Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 . End of Support Upgrade Path If you are using a version of Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 (VB365) that has reached its End of Support (EOS) and cannot be directly upgraded to a supported version, you will need to install a new instance of VB365 using the latest VB365 version . Clarification: If the Upgrade Instructions in the User Guide for a currently supported version of VB365 include an upgrade path from an older, unsupported version, this upgrade pathway is still considered supported. This article provides details on upgrade processes for such situations, provided that a currently supported version of VB365 supports a direct upgrade from these older versions. For example: When VB365 versions 7 and 7a were supported, they provided an upgrade path from VB365 versions 5 and 6. However, VB365 version 8 does not support upgrading directly from those versions. As a result, after VB365 versions 7 and 7a reached EOS, the upgrade paths for VB365 versions 5 and 6 were removed from this document. VB365 version 8.4, which is currently supported, allows upgrading directly from VB365 versions 7 and 7a.
